Disadvantage:

1) You have to be familiar with left side driving. The style of driving is different than in many other countries. One could say: In Thailand you drive according to the present traffic situation and les after Road Traffic Act. You hardly ever hear anybody honk the horn. 3) Some tourist has misunderstood the Thai Road Traffic Act. Drunk driving is not to be tolerated in Thailand. If you are involved in a road accident and tested positive for alcohol there will be no insurance in the world to cover you, your passenger or third party damages. Subsequently you can end up in a true nightmare there will include imprisonment, bail, advice from lawyer etc. We got knowledge to cases that have cost the foreigner more than THB 600.000 where not even large body harm was involved on the victim.
